Obituary for Georgia Mae "Nanny" Griffin

Georgia M. Griffin went into the presence of her Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 15, 2017. Georgia (Nanny) was on earth for 95 years bringing joy to those she came in contact with. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Hallmark Baptist Church in Fort Worth, TX. Visitation will held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church Wednesday prior to the service. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Troy, AL with Rev. Robert Singley of Fort Worth TX officiating. Burial will follow with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. She was born February 10, 1922, in Grady AL to late Cosmo and Bertie (Harwell) McMoy. She moved to Fort Worth in 1998 to live with her son and daughter-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Shirley A Griffin; a brother, C.L. McMoy; and a sister, Carolyn Seymour. She is survived by her son, Ken Griffin (Diane), Ft Worth, TX; sister, Mary Clower, Pensacola, FL; brother- in- law, Wallace Seymour, Montgomery; sister-in-law, Evelyn McMoy, Dothan; grandchildren, Shirley Campbell (Leroy), Clovis, N.M.; Chad Griffin (Keri), Temple, TX; and Laura Chapa (Robert), Arlington, TX; 7 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.Serving as pallbearers will be Ravon Graham, Donald Griffin, Rick Warren, Clint Warren, Jeff Kervin and Delaney Kervin. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Oak Grove Methodist Church Perpetual Cemetery Fund or Hallmark Baptist Church Mission Fund.
